Community Corner

4th Annual Lake Clean-Up & Treasure Hunt on Grays Lake

The community is again invited to Discover the Treasure
of Grays Lake and perform a lake clean up on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at Jones
Island Park in Grayslake.  The event is
hosted by the Grayslake Community Park District with assistance and support
from community volunteers including Greg Hawn and Kathy Allen.  Participants will be provided with a light
breakfast, a lunch and T-shirts thanks to local sponsors such as Something’s
Brewing, Papa John’s Pizza and Strang Funeral Chapel.  Numerous other sponsors such as State Bank of
the Lakes, Sammie's, Penn Station Subs, Smokey’s BBQ, the Grayslake Chamber of
Commerce, Artographi Creative Services, Illinois EPA, Sports Authority, Hinshaw
and Culbertson, Signarama Grayslake, Cash Advance Chicago and Toucan Dive Shop support
the event through donations and financial contributions.  The event begins at 9:30am with registration
and a light breakfast. The clean-up runs to 11:30am when lunch is served.  As before, there will be some treasure chests
stashed around clean up areas which will have special prizes.  Special prizes will be awarded to persons
bringing canoes and kayaks to the event to get to areas we can’t!  For more information and to register, contact
Jeff Nehila, Grayslake Community Park District, at (847) 223-7529.
