“Defamation” is a 90-minute play in which the audience is the
jury in a civil defamation suit that pits
a striving black businesswoman
against a well-to-do white Jewish man. The play challenges our
assumptions about race, religion, class and law, and spurs discussion
and introspection on how these topics shape our daily lives as the
audience openly deliberates and
