Free Jazz Concert by Grayslake Jazz Combo Workshop

23 participants in the Grayslake Jazz Combo Workshop will perform a free concert of swing, Latin, and funk jazz standards in the parking lot behind Chapin Jazz Studio (just south of Tastee Freez at 131 Hawley St, Grayslake). The concert is open to the public.

Bring a lawn chair and some sunscreen, and enjoy hearing students in grades 7 through adult improvise over jazz tunes. Now in its 14th year, Grayslake Jazz Combo workshop provides instruction in playing jazz music, performing in a combo, and improvising over a variety of jazz genres. Area educators Paul Nielsen and Bill Chapin co-direct the program.
