American Cancer Society Information Sessions on Walk & Roll

The American Cancer Society’s Walk & Roll invites individuals to make a difference in the fight against cancer by participating as walkers, skaters, or bicyclists on Sunday, May 15 at Independence Grove, 16400 W. Buckley Rd., Libertyville. Information sessions and sign up for the upcoming event are being held:

Saturday, April 16, 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Sports Authority, 6170 W. Grand Ave., Gurnee
Wednesday, May 4, 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Whole Foods, 760 Waukegan Rd., Deerfield

Walk & Roll is a chance for teams of friends, families and co-workers to come together to fight cancer. Participants raise funds prior to the event, commemorate with friends and family who have lost their lives to cancer or honor those who are currently fighting the disease.

As the Official Sponsor of Birthdays, the American Cancer Society looks forward to celebrating the 40th birthday of Walk & Roll in Illinois. One of the Society’s largest annual fundraisers in Illinois, Walk & Roll is expected to raise approximately $1 million statewide and help people stay well and get well, to fund and find new cures, and to rally people to fight back. The event allows the American Cancer Society to be there through every step of the cancer journey, providing free resources and support.
