Consumers Credit Union Announces Candidates For Election To Board of Directors

Election held at 82nd Annual Meeting on March 14, 2012

Grayslake, IL, January 10, 2012:  Consumers Credit Union (CCU) recently introduced candidates to fill four (4) positions on the Member-owned credit union’s Board of Directors. The election will be held on Wednesday, March 14th, at the Country Squire Banquet Hall in Grayslake in conjunction with the Member-owned credit union’s 82nd Annual Meeting. 

“One of the rights in a Member-owned organization is to have a say in the credit union’s governance and to vote for representation on our Board of Directors,” noted Sean M. Rathjen, CCU President.  “We are proud to have eight highly-qualified candidates wanting to serve on the credit union’s Board.  Consumers Credit Union looks forward the Board election at our 82nd Annual Meeting, where all credit union Members in good standing are eligible to vote in the election.”

Nominees for the Board of Directors include the following (listed alphabetically by last name, with city of residence; incumbents are identified with an “I” following their names):  Nancy Artz, Gurnee, IL; William Betke, Grayslake, IL; Alice Clements (I), Buffalo Grove, IL, Penelope Paris, Lake Villa, IL; Kenneth Robinson (I), North Chicago, IL; M. Emerson Rolph, West Lafayette, IN; Dr. John R. Schwab (I), Waukegan, IL; and, Yale Wolk, Libertyville, IL.

Ballots will be counted and the election certified by CCU’s CPA firm, Wipfli, Ullrich, Bertelson LLP.  After certification, those elected will be notified to attend the Organizational Meeting on Thursday, March 22, 2012, at 6:00 p.m.  The agenda for the March meeting includes organizing the new Board along with the election of Board Officers for the coming year.

Approximately 300 Members and guests are expected to attend the 82nd Annual Meeting, which will be held at the Country Squire Banquet Hall, 19133 E. Belvidere Rd in Grayslake. Tickets will be available beginning January 14, 2012, for $15.00 on a first-come, first served basis, at all CCU branches; no tickets will be sold at the door.  Registration begins at 5:30 p.m., with dinner served at 6:30 p.m., followed by a business meeting to inform members of CCU’s 2011 financial status and the election of Board Members.  Annual Reports for the credit union’s 2011 business year will also be distributed at the meeting.
