Visitng Artist Program Fund Raiser at CLC

Fall Jewelry and Origami Trunk Show to Benefit Children in Waukegan

Donna Sands, the founding director of The Visiting Artist Program: Understanding through Art! announced fall’s fundraising event to build support for the creative lessons given by this 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization.

The proceeds from a special trunk show featuring eclectic jewelry by Evanston artist, Mary Sherman and original origami boxes by foldologist, Bob Colman will be available for purchase October 11 through October 12, during the fall  sale event at ARTcetera - The Gallery Shop at the College of Lake County.

The Visiting Artist Program: Understanding through Art! raises funds to support artists efforts to do creative work with disabled and underprivileged school-age children in the Waukegan.

The unique program provides students the opportunity to learn about the art of different cultures through the lessons taught by visiting professional artists. Students are introduced to different mediums and get to create hands-on artwork.

The Visiting Artist Program: Understanding through Art! obtained the 501(c)(3) not - for -profit status in 2010. All donations are tax deductible.

Additional funding is acquired through grants, fundraisers and donations.
