Donations Pouring in for Hainesville Fire Victims

More than $13,000 has been donated to the Racho family through the YouCaring fundraising website.

Donations continue to pour in for the Racho family of Hainesville, who lost their home when a car crashed into their townhouse Oct. 25, sparking a fire.

As of Sunday night, $10,179 had been raised for the family through the YouCaring fundraising website. By 3:30 p.m. Monday, that amount was up to $13,831.

The initial goal was just $5,000.

Community Consolidated School District 46 shared a message on its website, asking parents to help Eric and Lieka Racho, whose three children attend Prairieview and Frederick Schools.

"Monday morning, the Racho family met with staff from both Prairieview and Frederick and were touched by the overwhelming care and support our community has shown them," district officials wrote on the website. "We would like to thank everyone who has inquired about how they can help support the Racho family."

In addition to the YouCaring website, residents are welcome to donate items to the Racho family. Contact the family at: rachofamilyrebuild@gmail.com, or visit the Racho Family Rebuild Facebook page.
