Frederick School Students, Parents Gather for Football-Themed Party
Former NFL player Tim Green will visit the school in April 2014.
More than 150 Frederick School students and family members gathered at the school Nov. 7 to discuss their Family Book Club novel, "Football Champ, written by Tim Green, a former NFL player.
Students and parents were treated to a real tailgate party in the Frederick multi-purpose room. They had the opportunity to play some tailgate games in the gym that included trying to throw a football through a tire. This simulated how the main character, Troy White, practiced his skills in order to be the best quarterback for his Duluth Tiger team.
Capping off the event was a half-hour Skype visit with the author calling from Princeton, NJ. Green spoke to the students about his book, "Football Champ," and answered many questions from the student/family audience.
On April 14, 2014, Tim Green will be making an appearance at Frederick School that will be open to all families in the district to attend. He will be doing a presentation and then signing books for those that attend and purchase one of his novels. Mark your calendars now.
