Gingerbread House Contest to Benefit Charity

A gingerbread house contest will be held at the Grayslake Heritage Center & Museum in coming weeks to benefit charity. 

The contest is being organized by Miss Grayslake, Junior Miss Grayslake, Little Miss Grayslake and Miss Grayslake and will be held on Dec. 14 and 15 at the Grayslake Heritage Center & Museum, 164 Hawley St. in Grayslake. 

The houses must be 95 percent edible and should not exceed one square foot, including the base. Contestants can use candy and sweets to decorate the homes and are asked to make a donation of non‐perishable food items to the PLAN Food Pantry.

All entries are to be delivered to the Grayslake Heritage Center & Museum on Friday, December 13 between 12 and 4 p.m., or on Saturday, December 14 between 9 and 10 a.m. 

The public will be invited to view the entries on Saturday, December 14 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, December 15 from 12 to 4 p.m. Visitors are encouraged to make a donation of non‐perishable food items to the PLAN Food Pantry.
