Grayslake Library Hosting Food, Toy Drives

Want to help those in need this holiday season?

Are you looking for ways to help your neighbors this holiday season?

The Grayslake Area Public Library is partnering with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves and the Avon Township Food  Pantry to bring holiday spirit to those in need in our community.

The U.S. Marine Corps Reserves’ Toys for Tots program is looking for donations of new and unwrapped toys ranging in price from $1 to $100. Toy donations can be dropped off now at the Grayslake Library until Dec. 16. Toys collected will then be distributed to children in the Lake County Area in time for Christmas.

In conjunction with our Winter Reading Program the Grayslake Library is partnering with the Avon Township Food Pantry and asking program participants to spread the good feeling they get when reading by donating non-perishable food items to help others. Food will be collected from Nov. 23 through Jan. 31, 2014 at the Grayslake Area Public Library and the whole community is invited to join in our effort to reduce hunger in Lake County.
