Did Grayslake D46 commit fraud in the hiring and paying of [former] Board Member Mike Linder?
In the continuing investigation of the Grayslake District 46 Insider Hiring of past school board member, Mike Linder, there is the appearance of fraud.
The attached documents received from a Freedom of Information request show Mike Linder, under the company name Convex Company invoiced the district $4000 each for the months of December 2010, January 2011, and February 2011. The hiring of Mike Linder was not approved by the school board until February 16, 2011 and the contract not fully executed until March. Since Mr. Linder invoiced the board for several months before he was actually hired, this leads to the appearance of fraud. The scheme to pay Mr. Linder for months before the actual hiring was the same idea espoused by Board Member Facklam from the improper closed session meeting already cited by the Lake County State’s Attorney.
