Grayslake D46 Board Members go to Boston on the Taxpayers

District 46 School Board members Sue “Felony” Facklam and Karen “We’ve Always Done It” Weinert went to Boston for a conference in April paid for by the taxpayers.

Another example of brazenness by members of the District 46 School Board was their district paid trip to Boston, MA to attend the National Association of School Boards Convention in April. The board members who attended were Sue “Felony” Facklam and Karen “We’ve Always Done It” Weinert. The third person attending the conference was Superintendent Ellen Correll. [Correll stated she went with her husband so the district did not pay for her portion of the trip.]

The conference was held April 21 – 23 (Sun – Mon) with some pre-conference sessions on Friday, 20th.  As you can see from the attached receipts, both Weinert and Facklam both reserved rooms at Embassy Suites, which was one of the lowest priced hotels for the conference. Both rooms were reserved with King size beds for 4 nights, starting April 20th. However, the costs reflect Facklam and Weinert staying 5 nights each, costing the district an additional $386.85. Since the conference ended at 3:30pm on the 23rd, why were they even registered until the 24th, much less them staying until the 25th. No wonder they didn’t mind paying their own airfare, the taxpayers were paying for their hotel room for 2 extra nights.

Yeah. For all we pay in taxes, the least they can do is stop the rain.
