Sam Yingling: Promise Made, Promise NOT Kept – Budget Deficit of $250K

In the previous article the discussion was about Sam Yingling not keeping his promise on returning his salary. This article is about his failure to keep his budget promises and once again exposing the fact that he has not told the residents of Avon Township the truth. 

In the third paragraph of the Avon Township website [shown at bottom of page], Yingling claims to “post a record surplus last fiscal year”. The problem again is Avon Township in their fiscal year ending in Feb. 2012 shows a deficit of $253,520. 

In addition when Yingling took the reigns at Avon Townships, there were mass firings, that appeared to be political in nature. The fired employees sued for wrongful termination and won a settlement of $450,000. The settlement proves these firings were political and just another example of Chicago style politics coming to Lake County. The Daily Herald Editorial Board even called this a “patronage settlement“.
