  • Concert for St. Valentine’s

There are six strings on a guitar and four strings on a violin. These 10 strings and the blending of acoustic guitar and classical violin, create a really unique and beautiful sound. Musical duo Sherri and Jason DeRoche, also known as Ten Strings, will present a musical concert to reflect on the beauty of winter and to observe the day. Bring yourself, your family and loved ones to celebrate some of the world’s “love-liest” music. And, there may have to be some chocolate involved…

  • Concert for St. Patrick’s Day

Celebrate St. Patty’s Day at the Library. Join us for a fun and festive performance by students from Chicago’s Academy of Irish Music. The Academy students come from all around the Metropolitan area and play a variety of Irish music from old harp pieces and song tunes, to clan marches, reels, and jigs on flute, whistle, bodhran, fiddle, viola and cello. Led by founder and dean, Noel Rice, who has been teaching and performing for over 30 years, they have performed locally, nationally and internationally. The students have also given performances to many American and Irish dignitaries. Everyone is Irish on St. Patty’s, so don’t forget to wear your green.
