G.C.H.S. Writers Week

Writers Week at my school GCHS, pretty fun.!

Writing has never called my attention, mainly because it is difficult for me to write down my thoughts onto paper. Yet, I liked Writers Week more then I expected. I started the week by seeing Jay Asher which was a pretty good presentation because I had never read his book and him explaning the process of writing 13 Reasons Why made me want to read it. Tuesday i saw Company of Thieves which went great because I automatically fell in love with their music, especially after listening to Oscar Wilde. I liked Company of Thieves so much I convinced one of my teachers into letting me go to the other presentation of them during 5th hour. On Thursday I first saw Sam Weller which didn't really catch my interest but I did like the story and facts of Ray Bradbury. Also, 7th hour on Thurday i also got to see Young Chicago Authors which I liked alot mainly because they are from and around Chicago. Knowing that there are people from Chicago that express themselves in way that can give Chicago a positive reputation made me proud. Plus, Lamar Jorden has some awesome poems; his poems make you think twice and realize our everyday life. To end the week I saw Nate Wheatherup who was really funny and also made me realize how even comedy involves writing. Maybe reading book or anything does help express ourselfs. Writers Week was a success in my opinion, I wish I was here next year too so that I could experience it again. Plus a big thank you for all the staff that put it together. Also thank you to Company of Thieves, Young Chicago Authors and Nate Wheatherup for the autographs...
