Austin L. Lonberg was Korean War Veteran

Services will be held Oct. 7 for Austin L. Lonberg.

Austin L. Lonberg, a resident of Round Lake Beach, passed away Wednesday Oct. 2, 2013, at the age of 83.

He was born Nov. 21, 1929 in Miami, OK, to Fredrick and Zora Lonberg. Austin was a veteran of the Korean War having served with the Air Force as reconnaissance. He was a retiree of IBM in Chicago after 36 years having worked as a Senior Engineer. Austin was a member and elder of the Calvary Presbyterian Church in Round Lake. He was an avid hunter, loved playing golf, bowling and other sports.

Austin is survived by his wife of 43 years, Beverly, his children Mike (Theresa) Lonberg, Randall (Carolyn) Watson, Jim (Loretta) Lonberg, Daniel Lonberg, Tracey Lonberg, Robin (Kenneth) Smith, Amanda Lonberg, and James Lonberg, his 17 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and his siblings Phyllis (Graden) Stinnnett, Lavita (Dell) Simon, and Norman Lonberg. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sisters Oleita, Imogene, Nadine, and Hazel.

Friends of the family may visit Monday, Oct. 7, 2013 from 4 until 8 p.m. with a service commencing at 8 p.m. at STRANG FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORIUM, 410 E. Belvidere Road, Grayslake, IL 60030.
