Clara Link, age 78, a resident of Round Lake, passed away Monday, Jan. 27, 2014 at JourneyCare in Barrington.
She was born Feb. 5, 1935 in Germany to Olga and Ludwig Schroeder. Clara loved to crochet and cook, but, more than anything, she loved to be a grandma.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Frank, whom she married on Dec. 12, 1959 in Forest Park; sons, John (Carol) of Hainesville and Frank of Genoa City, WI; grandchildren, Catherine of Omaha, NE and David of Hainesville; and siblings, Siegfried (Jayne) Schroeder of Beloit, WI, and Else Schmidt of Germany. She was preceded in death by her parents, Olga and Ludwig; one sister, Hilma Schlenhardt; and brothers, Paul and Bob Schroeder.
Friends of the family may visit from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014 at STRANG FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORIUM, 410 East Belvidere Road (Route 120) in Grayslake.
