Edward J. Amann was World War II Veteran, Retired Firefighter

Services have been scheduled for Amann, who also served on the Round Lake Plan Commission.

Edward J. Amann, a resident of Round Lake, passed away Friday March 22, 2013 at the age of 95.

He was born April 8, 1917 in Round Lake to Frank and Elizabeth Amann. Edward was a veteran of World War II having served for the Army. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Round Lake. Edward was a former Round Lake Firefighter, served on the Village Board as part of the planning commission, and a valued part of the community.

Edward is survived by his daughter Laeila Schubert, his grandchildren Erik (Anna) Schubert and Krestin (James) Farrell, his great-grandchildren William Schubert, Kara Schubert, and John Farrell, and his nieces and nephews Cecile (Pat) Horan, Cathie (Eric) Seligman, Kevin (Karyn) Amann, Renee (Jason) Rizzo, and Mark (Jeanie) Amann. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Esther, his brothers Delbert and Bud, and his sister Cecile.

Friends of the family may visit on Wednesday March 27, 2013 from 10 to 11 a.m. with a memorial mass commencing at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church 114 N. Lincoln Ave. Round Lake, IL 60073. Inurnment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Round Lake, IL. All funeral arrangements were entrusted to Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake, IL 60030.
