Joanna Lynn Johnson

Joanna Lynn Johnson, “Lynn” to everyone who knew her, a 45-year-old longtime Antioch resident, formerly of Grayslake, passed away Thu. Nov. 22, 2012 at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. She was born in Danville on Aug. 15, 1967. Lynn went to St. Gilbert Catholic School in Grayslake, and graduated from Grayslake High School in 1985. She was the beloved wife of nine years to Tim Johnson, whom she married on Mar. 3, 2003 in Waukegan; the loving mother of Jacob Summers and step-mother of Brian, Michael (Melissa), Kristin, and Markie Johnson; the doting grandmother of Ashton, Alyssa, Kerstin, Rechell, Daymein, Kyla, Jason, Desarae, and Payton; the dear sister of David (Mary) Holden; the cherished daughter of Harold and Kay {nee Wiser} Holden; the fond aunt of James, great-aunt of Kayden and Avery; the much-loved granddaughter of Genevieve Wiser. Her maternal grandfather Joseph Wiser, and paternal grandparents Howard and Bernice Holden preceded her in death. Friends of the family may join them for memorial visitation at STRANG FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORIUM, 410 E. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake, IL 60030 on Mon. Carl L. Kendall

Carl L. Kendall, a resident of Grayslake, passed away Monday November 19, 2012 at Condell in Libertyville, IL, at the age of 88. He was born November 6, 1924 in South Haven, Michigan to Wynn and Anna (nee: Lauman) Kendall. Carl was a member of the Brotherhood of Union Carpenters and was a World War II veteran having served with the US Army in the Philippines. Carl is survived by his wife of 15 years, Eileen, whom he wed on February 15, 1997 in Grayslake, IL, his sons Steve (Patti) Kendall and David (Kim) Kendall, his grandchildren Patrick (Sara), Stephanie, Derek, Dana, and Nicole, his 2 great-grandchildren, his step-children Ramona Buquet, Kathy Buquet, Lory (Dan) Porter, Rich (Carolyn) Buquet, and Karen (Mike) Brockman, 21 step-grandchildren, 15 step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers. Friends of the family may visit on Sunday November 25, 2012 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake, IL. A memorial mass will be held on Monday November 26, 2012 from 10am St. Gilbert Catholic Church 301 E. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake, IL. Interment will be held privately.

Mark Conerty

Published November 21, 2012 Mark J. Conerty, a 52-year-old Grayslake resident, passed away Tues. Nov. 20, 2012 at home in the presence of his loving family, after a year long struggle with brain cancer. He was born in Woodstock, IL on Sep. 6, 1960, the son of Joseph and Jane Conerty. Mark attended St. Mary’s and Marian Central Catholic schools, graduating from Marian Central in 1979. Mark will be remembered as much for his hard work ethic as his enjoyment of relaxing and being outdoors. His favorite escape was being on his boat on a sunny afternoon with his family. Mark was an avid sports fan who enjoyed playing football and basketball in his youth, coaching his kids, and rooting for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. His passion for genealogy kept him in touch with his heritage, of which he was quite proud. His greatest passion was being a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. His life will forever be celebrated by his family and friends. Mark is survived by his wife Caroline {nee Fulmer}, whom he married on December 7, 2002 at Grace Lutheran Church in Woodstock; his mother and stepdad Jane and Tom Cooney his son Jordan and daughters Paige and Kayla; his sisters Mary (Alan) Stilling, Pat (Terry) Clarke, and Marty Conerty; and his brother John (Kate) Conerty. His memory and spirit will also live on through his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, and uncles, whom he loved dearly.
