Joseph C. Habas was World War II Veteran, Served Aboard USS Haven

Services have been scheduled for Joseph C. Habas.

Joseph C. Habas, a resident of Hainesville, passed away Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013 at the age of 85.

He was born Feb. 23, 1928 in Chicago, IL to Stanley and Blanche Habas. Joseph was a veteran of World War II having served with the US Navy aboard the USS Haven. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Central Park Post 1028 and had worked for International Harvester for over 30 years.

Joseph is survived by his wife of 48 years, Antoinette, his children Edward Habas and Renee Keefe, and his grandchildren Kyle, Trevor, and Dustin Joseph. He was preceded in death by his parents and his 10 siblings.

Friends of the family may visit on Saturday November 23, 2013 from 9 a.m. until noon with a funeral service commencing at noon at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E. Belvidere Road, Grayslake. Interment will be held following the service at Ascension Catholic Cemetery in Libertyville. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Central Park American Legion Post #1028 4349 S.
