Leonard E. Burge was Historical Society Board Member, Worked for Rockenbach

Services have been scheduled for Leonard E. Burge.

Leonard E. Burge, 91, a resident of Naperville, and a former 80-year resident of Grayslake, passed away Thursday Jan. 23, 2014.

During his years in Grayslake, Leonard was employed at Rockenbach Chevrolet for 34 years and was very active in many church and local community organizations including serving for many years as a board member for the Grayslake Historical Society.

Leonard was the beloved husband of Mary K, who preceded him in death in 2010, the loving father of Barbara (Art) Grant, Marilyn (Guy) Head, Gary (Mary) Burge, and Susanne (Scott) Dahl; dear grandfather of 14 grandchildren; and fond great-grandfather of 17 great-grandchildren.

Friends of the family may visit from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 27, 2014 at STRANG FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORIUM, 410 East Belvidere Road Grayslake. The funeral mass will be Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014 at 11 a.m. at St. Gilbert Catholic Church, 301 E. Belvidere Road, Grayslake. Interment will follow at Avon Centre Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Grayslake Historical Society 164 Hawley St. Grayslake, IL or Tabor Hills Healthcare Facility 1347 Crystal Ave. Naperville, IL 60563.
