Mireya E. "Mia" Cardenas, 9, had a 'Sparkling Personality'
Services have been scheduled for Mireya E. "Mia" Cardenas.
Funeral services have been scheduled for a 9-year-old Round Lake girl who drowned in Fox Lake Aug. 27.

Mireya E. "Mia" Cardenas, 9, of Round Lake passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013.
She was born July 18, 2004 in Highland Park and was a former resident of Grayslake, living in Round Lake for the past six years. Mia was a fourth grade student at Fremont Intermediate School in Mundelein. Her sparkling personality will be dearly missed by her loving family and friends.
Surviving are her parents, Mario & Maribel Cardenas; brother, Peter Benjamin; sister, Madelyn Grace; maternal grandparents, Antonio and Maria Garcia and paternal grandparents, Esther and Isauro Medina; and also by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Pedro Cardenas.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013 at 1 p.m. at The Chapel, 1200 American Way, Libertyville. A visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at The Chapel.
