James A. Jones, a resident of Round Lake Beach, passed away Sunday Feb. 17, 2013, at the age of 71. He was born July 29, 1941 in Chicago to Earl and Doris Jones. James was a veteran of the Vietnam War having served for four years with the Air Force. James worked for 26 years on the Round Lake Fire Department and 10 years with Murphy Ambulance. He was also a member of the Chicagoland Mopar Club. James is survived by his wife of 50 years, Patsy, his children Christopher (Zok), Mark, and Donna, his grandchildren Jennifer, Maryann, Nicole, and Michael, and Jimmy and Amanda Thompson, his dog Bo, and his numerous in-laws, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings Don, Louis, Jack, Alice, and his 3 sisters that perished in a house fire.
Friends of the family may visit Monday Feb. 25, 2013 from 4 to 7 p.m. with a memorial service commencing at 7 p.m. at Round Lake Cultural and Civic Center 2007 N. Civic Center Way Round Lake. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Save-A-Pet or the Round Lake Fire Department.
