Jerome E. Quilty, 79, longtime resident of Libertyville and Grayslake, died peacefully at home on Dec. 24, 2013. Jerry was an active member of St. Joseph Parish, Libertyville and Lake County Catholic Charities. He continued his service after his retirement from Commonwealth Edison.
Jerry was the beloved husband of Joyce (Kristoffersen) Quilty for 52 years; loving father of Emmett (Liz), Terry (Sheila), Mary Quilty Piasecki, Maureen Wright, and Kathleen Quilty; cherished grandfather of Kristin (Kyle Kessel), Jessica, Erin, Elle, Colleen, Michaela, Seamus, Ryan, and Rachel; adoring great-grandfather of Reese, Ella, Colt, and Deni Kessel; and loving brother to Mary Ann Gavin, Joanne Weber, Martin Quilty, and the late Thomas, Harry, Margaret Messner, and Patrick.
Visitation will be held Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013 from 4-8 p.m. at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Place, Libertyville (Route 176, one Block East of Milwaukee Avenue). Mass will be celebrated Monday, Dec. 30 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 121 East Maple Ave., Libertyville.
