Obituary: Joan (nee Gibbemeyer) Yingst

Joan (nee Gibbemeyer) Yingst, 46, of Round Lake, IL, passed away Friday, Sept. 20, 2013. 

Born Jan. 12, 1967 in Galesburg, IL, she was the daughter of John and Willa Gibbemeyer. Joan graduated from Galesburg High School in 1985, and worked at Motorola in Arlington Heights, IL and Quill Inc. in Lincolnshire, IL. She married her husband, William “Bill” Yingst on July 6, 1991.

She is survived by her parents and husband; children Bryan Shane Sobin of Grayslake, IL at College of Lake County, Jeremy William Yingst of Round Lake, IL at Northern Illinois University, and Justin Michael Yingst of Round Lake, IL at College of Lake County; and sister Emily Lynn Gibbemeyer of Fort Lauderdale, FL. She is also survived by her many loved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Joan will be remembered for the love and pride she had for her family, her favorite collections, and her fascination with classic horror films. She also had a very special place in her heart for her three rescued American Eskimo dogs.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24 at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Place, Libertyville. Visitation Monday from 4-8 p.m. and Tuesday from 10-11 a.m. at McMurrough Funeral Chapel.
