Crews were on the scene of a fire this morning in Hainesville that was caused by a car crashing into a townhouse, according to a dispatch alert.
A second alarm was called on the fire at 4:48 a.m. on the 400 block of Patriot Drive. According to Lake County Passage, Hainesville Road from Route 120 to Washington Street is closed due to the fire.
NBC5 Chicago reports that the two-story townhouse collapsed and that the vehicle's driver died in the crash.
The residents of the townhouse are OK, according to WGN.
