Fire Station #3 Dedication, Open House June 24

Grayslake Fire Protection District officials welcome community members to their newest station.

Community members and families are invited to the open house and dedication for Fire Station #3, located at 22405 W. Behm, Grayslake. The event will be from 1 - 4 p.m. Sunday, June 24.

Station #3 is operating out of a new building near the recently renovated intersection of Peterson Road and Route 60. It primarily protects the southwest corner of the 24 square mile including the adjacent Saddlebrook Farms.

Following the dedication ceremony, there will be refreshments and a chance to tour Grayslake's newest Fire Station. All members of the community are invited to this safety focused family event.

Fire Station #3 is a genuine community asset that will enhance the life safety
needs of the Grayslake area for decades to come, said Deputy Chief Greg Formica in a statement. The new station augments the two existing Fire District stations but is located in a geographically and culturally diverse area that includes an active adult retirement community, major commuting highways, flight paths for Campbell Airport, private homes, a school, businesses, houses of worship, and the 640 acre Cornerstone Development offered through the Alter Group in the Village of Grayslake.

The modern, welcoming and energy efficient 10,000 square foot facility can now provide the region with fire apparatus, advanced emergency medical services and personnel for a more immediate emergency response, Formica stated.
