Former Grayslake Woman Pleads Not Guilty to Sex Assault of Student

A former Grayslake woman pleaded not guilty this past week to a charge of criminal sexual assault and two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse for allegations that she had sex with a student while she was a teacher at Grant High School, according to the Daily Herald.

Amber Krause, 30, formerly of the 0 to 100 block of Belvidere Road in Grayslake and who now lives in Mundelein, could face up to 15 years in prison if found guilty on the most serious sex assault charge and up to seven year on the sex abuse charges, according to the article.

She is accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a student and resigned from her teaching position once the allegations surfaced this past fall, according to the Daily Herald.
