Four Charged With Attacking Lake County Detective, Deputies

The attack occurred in the 17300 block of West Dartmoor Drive in Grayslake around 1:45 p.m. Thursday, according to the Daily Herald.

A Lake County detective investigating a drug trafficking complaint was attacked Thursday afternoon in Grayslake while the two deputies that responded to the scene were also pulled into the fight, according to the Daily Herald. 

A 19-year-old is accused of starting the fight with the detective—who allegedly saw two people with marijuana in a yard in 17300 block of West Dartmoor Drive—by putting him into a headlock while witnesses said three other people punched and kicked the detective, according to the article. 

Three Grayslake residents and one Gurnee resident—ranging in ages from 19 to 55—have been charged in connection with the incident, according to the Daily Herald.
