UPDATE: Four Lake County Businesses Cited for Alcohol Violations

The clerks at four stores were caught selling alcohol to a minor.

The Lake County Sheriff's Department identified the stores where the clerks were cited for selling alcohol to minors.

Those stores include the Family Pantry, 21190 Commerical Drive in Mundelein; Country Store, 25238 Rt. 173, Antioch; Citgo Gas, 41082 Rt. 83 in Antioch; Citgo Gas, 41452 Green Bay Rd. in Wadsworth.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office conducted alcohol compliance checks at retail liquor establishments that are located throughout unincorporated Lake County.

The compliance checks were conducted between December 19, 2012 and December 27, 2012.  48 compliance checks were conducted during this round of checks, and as a result, four incidents of illegal sale of alcohol to a minor were documented. 

Four clerks representing four different businesses in Wadsworth, unincorporated Antioch and unincorporated Mundelein were issued state citations for selling alcohol to a Lake County Sheriff confidential informant who was under the age of 21.

All of the illegal transactions were witnessed by an undercover Lake County Sheriff’s Office detective.

According to the Sheriff's Department the following clerks were issued citations:

  • Indravadan Patel, 58, of Hoffman Estates
  • Kiran Patel, 58, of Trevor, WI
  • Anne Marie Gonzalez, 47, of Antioch
  • Josefina Mondragon-Soto, 42, address unknown
