Grayslake Man Died In Carillon Pool

An autopsy is scheduled to be performed today on a 77-year-old resident of Carillon North who died in the subdivision's pool.

A 77-year-old resident of Carillon North, an active senior community in Grayslake, died while playing volleyball in the pool, officials said.

"We were called to the center by residents Sunday night at about 5:55 p.m.," said Greg Formica of the Grayslake Fire Protection District. "They said a man had passed out in the water while he was playing water volleyball."

Donald Parsons, of the 100 block of Enfield Lane, had gone underwater in the indoor pool in the 2400 block of Carillon Drive. Formica said when firefighters arrived, the residents had already removed Parsons from the water and were performing CPR on him.
