Grayslake Police Blotter: Assault, Drugs, Public Intoxication

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Grayslake Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.

Aggravated Assault

Eugene Phil Coppney, 45, of 87 Village Station, Grayslake, was charged Jan. 7 with aggravated assault and unlawful use of a weapon in the 100 block of Center Street. He was released on a $1,200 I-bond pending a Feb. 28 court date.

Battery

Almos Collum IV, 25, of 733 N. Waller St., Apt. 1, Chicago, was charged Jan. 5 with domestic battery in the 100 block of Glenn Street. He was taken to bond court.

Drugs

Mohammed Y. Abdallah, 21, of 1801 W. Geneva Road, Peoria, was charged Jan. 6 with unlawful possession of marijuana 30 grams or less at 100 Hainesville Road, in Hainesville. He was released on a $120 I-bond pending a Feb. 20 court date.

DUI

Brenda K.L. Peterson, 32, of 440 S. Slusser St., Apt. 4, Grayslake, was charged Jan. 5 with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with a blood-alcohol content of .08 or more, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and operating an uninsured vehicle at S. Route 83 and W. Peterson Road. She was released on a $1,000 I-bond and her license pending a Feb. 5 court date.

Public Intoxication

Christopher D. Fendick, 38, of 1849 W. Augusta, Chicago, was charged Jan. 5 with public intoxication/public nuisance in the 100 block of Center Street. He was released on a $120 I-bond pending a Feb. 20 court date.

Traffic

Laqunda C. Williams, 30, of 422 E. Oak St., Mundelein, was charged Jan. 8 with driving with a suspended/revoked license at 888 E. Route 120. She was released on a $1,500 I-bond pending a Feb. 20 court date.

Danielle A. Barbour, 23, of 277 Oarkridge Ct., Antioch, was charged Jan. 5 with driving with a suspended/revoked license, operating a vehicle with expired registration, speeding and operating an uninsured vehicle at N. Drury Lane and Carillon Drive. She was released on a $2,000 I-bond pending a Feb. 20 court date.

Mariano R. Acosta, 27, of 1409 Idlewild Dr., Round Lake, was charged Jan. 2 with driving with a suspended/revoked license at N. Route 83 and E. Rollins Road. He was released on a $1,500 I-bond pending a Feb. 20 court date.
