Grayslake Police Blotter: DUI Arrests; Leaving Scene of Accident, Illegal Transport of Alcohol

Grayslake arrest reports for Feb. 27 through March 3.

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Grayslake Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.

Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid Accident

Lorena Roman, 19, of 143 Brittany Lane in Hainesville, was arrested at 7:13 a.m. on Feb. 26 at West Peterson Road and South Route 83 in Grayslake and charged with no valid driver's license, operating uninsured vehicle and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Her bond was set at $2,000. She was expected in court on March 19 at 1:30 p.m. 

Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid Accident

Anthony Guzman, 19, of Northfield, was arrested at 2:20 p.m. on Feb. 27 at Fairlawn Drive and West Main St. in Hainesville, and charged with driving with suspended license and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. His bond was set at $1,500. He was expected in court on March 19 at 1:30 p.m. 

DUI, Leaving the Scene of an Accident
Police arrested Theodore C. Cauwels, 37, of Northfield, at 6:31 p.m. on Feb. 28 at South Route 83 and West Peterson Road in Grayslake and charged him with leaving the scene of an accident, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, operating an uninsured vehicle and DUI-alcohol. A $1,000 bond was set. He was expected in court on March 18 at 9 a.m. 

DUI

Patrick A. Murphy, of Wildwood, Ill., 54, was arrested at 1:12 p.m. on March 1 at West Route 120 and North John Mogg Road in Grayslake and charged with DUI-alcohol, driver license not on person and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. A $3,000 bond was set. He was expected in court on March 25 at 9 a.m. 

Illegal Transportation of Alcohol

Kimberly A. Smith, 31, of Ingleside, was arrested at 8:11 p.m. on March 3 at 1475 E. Route 120 in Grayslake, and charged with driving with suspended license, operating an uninsured vehicle and illegal transportation of alcohol. A $2,00 bond was set. She was expected in court at 9 a.m. on March 19.
