Grayslake Police Blotter: DUI, Forgery

Recent arrests for DUI and forgery aken from the official reports of the Grayslake Police Department.

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Grayslake Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.

DUI

Steven B. Berzon, 53, of 212 Thrush Circle, Lindenhurst, was charged with driving under the influence, DUI with a BAC of .08 or more; and endangering the life of a child. He was stopped on May 16 on Route 120. He was released on $3,000 bond pending a court date of June 26.

Santos Aguilar, 54, of 34194 Trillium, Round Lake, was charged with driving under the influence, DUI with a BAC of .08 or more, improper lane usage, failure to wear a seat belt. He was stopped on May 19 near Route 120 and Sommerset. He was released on $1,000 bond pending a court date of June 12.

Jose D. Becerra-Vara, 25, of 522 May Street, Waukegan, was charged with obstruction of justice, aggravated driving under the influence, DUI, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, improper use of registration, license suspended or revoked for a second DUI, warrant, having no valid registration, and improper lane usage. He was stopped on May 20 at 885 E. Rte. 120. He was taken to the Lake County Jail.

Jose Castaneda-Rodriguez, 30, of 203 E. Grand Avenue, Unit 101, Lake Villa, was charged with improper lane usage, driving under the influence, and DUI with a BAC of .08 or more. He was stopped on May 20 near Route 83 and Highland Road. He was released on $300 bond pending a court date of June 19.

Editor's Note: The DUI charge has been dropped. Juan P. Martinez, 48, of 859 Tylerton Circle, Grayslake, was charged with driving under the influence, illegal transportation of alcohol, improper lane usage, and failure to signal when required. He was stopped on June 1 near Routes 120 and 45. He was released on $100 cash bond pending a court date of June 26.

FORGERY

Michael R. Murray, of 1907 Country Drive, Unit 202, Grayslake, was charged with forgery, and theft of labor or services. He was stopped on May 19 at 1804 East Route 120. He was taken to Lake County Bond Court.
