A 21-year-old man was shot and injured in Round Lake Beach Monday.
The man was taken to an area hospital. Police would not release the man's name, what hospital he was taken to, or very many details about the incident.
"We do not believe this was a random act," Round Lake Police Lt. Rich Chiarello said.
The shooting happened near Fairfield and Mayfield at 8:12 p.m. Chiarello would not say why the man who was shot was in the area.
"Information is being gathered and significant leads are being aggressively pursued," a press release from the Round Lake Police Department stated.
