Mundelein Police Seeking Community's Help in Finding Child Abduction Suspect

The girl was taken from 555 Deepwoods Drive in Mundelein Sept. 30 and returned a short time later, police said.

The Mundelein Police Department is asking for the public’s help in finding a man who they say abducted a 3-year-old girl Monday and subsequently returned her a short time later.

Police said the girl was taken from 555 Deepwoods Drive, Mundelein, at about 5:30 p.m. Sept. 30. 

"This subject had been seen earlier in the day handing out candy to children in the area and was reported to be in the area the day before as well," Mundelein Police said in a statement on their website.

Police described the man as being Hispanic, possibly between the ages of 20 and 30, with short, curly hair and a goatee. He was driving a compact car with aftermarket wheels, possibly a navy blue or black, four-door 2006-08 Hyundai Accent.
