Fire Officials: Person Struck by Train in Grayslake

The incident occurred on Center Street, according to a dispatch alert.

Update, 7:58 p.m.: Deputy Fire Chief Greg Formica said crews are treating an individual who was struck by a train. 

"The patient is being transported to Condell in serious conditions," said Formica. "The train will be stopped for quite awhile as the police investigation continues."

The incident was initially reported by a dispatch alert as a car versus train collision.

Original story: Inbound Metra train No. 120 on the North Central line en route to Chicago is set to arrive about 45 to 120 minutes late due to an incident in Grayslake, according to Metra's website.

According to a dispatch alert received by Grayslake Patch at 7:48 p.m., a train versus car collision occurred on Center Street. The dispatch alert notes that multiple ambulances are en route to the scene.
