Police Blotter: Alcohol, Drug Arrests; Resisting Arrest

The Grayslake Police Department reports arrests from Dec. 29 through Jan. 6.

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Grayslake Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.

Alcohol

Rubaiyat F. Anwar, 22, of 126 Oakton Lane, Lane Villa, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol Jan. 1 near Route 83 and Washington Street. Anwar was also cited for driving in the wrong lane, failure to reduce speed/failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and operating a vehicle with expired registration. Anwar was released on $3,000 bond pending a Jan. 21 court date. 

Gustavo Garcia, 26, of 58 N. Shaddle Ave., Mundelein, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol Jan. 1 near Route 45 and Casey Road. He was also cited for DUI over .08, illegal transportation of alcohol, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and failure to reduce speed/failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. He was released on $1,000 bond pending a Jan. 28 court date.

Resisting Arrest

Joseph M. Morelli, 24, of 1166 Georgetown Way, Vernon Hills, was charged with resisting arrest of a peace officer Jan. 5 near Cranberry Lake and Centennial Drives in Hainesville. He was also cited for possession of cannabis - less than 2.5 grams, possession of drug paraphernalia, illegal transportation of alcohol, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and driving under the combined influence of alcohol, drugs or compounds. He was released on $3,000 bond pending a Jan. 28 court date. 

Traffic

Antonio Gonzalez-Alvarez, 36, of 503 Woodland Drive, Round Lake Beach, was charged with driving with a suspended/revoked drivers license Jan. 1 near Route 83 and Washington Street. He was released on $1,000 bond pending a Jan. 15 court date.

Bryan Barajas-Banuelos, 38, of 1815 20th, Zion, was charged with not having a valid drivers license Jan. 2 near Route 120 and Atkinson Road. He was also cited for failure to reduce speed/failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. He was released on $1,500 bond pending a Feb. 19 court date.

Alejandra Esteban-Lorenzo, 33, of 2707 Elim Ave., Zion, was charged with driving with a suspended/revoked drivers license Jan. 6 near Routes 45 and 120. She was also cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle. She was released on $2,000 bond pending a Feb. 19 court date.
