Police Blotter: Leaving the Scene of an Accident; Drug Arrests

The Grayslake Police Department reports arrests from May 19 to June 19. This is part two of those police blotter items.

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Grayslake Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.

Alcohol

Amanda N. Browne, 25, of 108 N. 3rd St., Libertyville, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol May 28 near Route 83 and East Washington Street. She was also cited for improper lane usage. She was released on $1,000 bond pending a June 18 court date.

Adrian Bermea, 28, of 18197 Elm St., Wildwood, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol May 30 near Route 45 and Prairie Smoke Road. Bermea was also cited for illegal transportation of alcohol and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Bermea was released on his drivers license and $1,000 bond pending a June 25 court date.

Drugs

Edward S. Hernandez, 23, of 1341 S. Wild Meadow Drive, Round Lake, was charged with possession of cannabis - greater than 2.5 grams and less than 10 grams - May 31 on the 1800 block of Country Drive. He was also cited for possession of drug paraphernalia and was wanted on an in-state warrant. He was released on $1,200 bond pending a June 20 court date on the local charges and taken to the Lake County Jail on the warrant. 

Derek A. Kaye, 22, of 1817 Country Drive No. 302, Grayslake, was charged with possession of cannabis - greater than 2.5 grams and less than 10 grams - May 31 on the 1800 block of Country Drive. He was also cited for possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released on $1,200 bond pending a June 20 court date.

Leaving the Scene of an Accident

Zechariah C. Speed, 20, of 800 Ridgewood Drive, Round Lake, was charged with leaving the scene of an accident-vehicle damage May 30 near Pheasant Court and Ziegler Drive. He was also cited for failure to give aid or information. He was released on $1,200 bond pending a June 19 court date.

Theft

Scott S. Fahlstrom, 24, of 135 Glen St. No 202, Grayslake, was charged with theft under $500 May 28 on the 400 block of South Slusser Street. He was also charged with possession of stolen property and was wanted on an in-state warrant. He was released on $1,200 bond pending a June 17 court date.

Traffic

David M. Botello, 40, of 715 Golfview Drive, Round Lake Beach, was charged with not having a valid drivers license (expired more than six months) May 31 near West Trail Drive and Route 120. He was also cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle. He was released on a notice to appear in court June 19.

Isela Campos-Gonzalez, 29, of 1527 Brentwood Drive, Round Lake, was charged with not having a valid drivers license (expired more than six months) June 3 near Route 120 and North Deer Point Drive. She was also cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. She was released on a notice to appear in court July 17.
