UPDATE: Man Accused of Killing Wife, Disabled Daughter Held on $5 Million Bail

The family's dog was also killed.

A $5 million bail has been set for a 53-year-old Waukegan man accused of murdering his wife and disabled daughter Sunday evening, according to the Daily Herald.

Anthony Marcus is charged with two counts of first-degree murder and is being held in the Lake County Jail, the Daily Herald reports.

His wife, Sun, 50, and daughter, Samantha, 17, were strangled in their Waukegan town home and the family's dog was also killed, according to the article.

Samantha had muscular dystrophy and required a wheelchair to get around. Neighbors told reporters the family was friendly and they often saw Samantha wheeling through the neighborhood, taking the family dog for walks.

Police found a suicide note on the porch of the town home in the 4100 block of Continental in northwest Waukegan that apologized to Marcus' daughter — but not the one who was killed — for being a "failure at everything," according to the Chicago Tribune.

Police found Marcus inside the town home injured, but alive, after he cut his wrists, according to the article. The bodies of his wife and daughter were found in the basement of the town home.
