Police Searching for Man Who Robbed Bank Near Grayslake

The robbery occurred Thursday at Associated Bank in Third Lake.

The Lake County Sheriff's Office is asking the public for help in locating a man who robbed a bank near Grayslake Thursday.

Sgt. Sara Balmes said officers were called to Associated Bank, 34354 N. Route 45, in Third Lake at 10:47 a.m. Thursday on a bank robbery call. Balmes said the suspect jumped onto the teller's counter and demanded that money be put in a black Puma drawstring backpack.

Bank employees complied with the suspect's demands, Balmes said. The man then put the employees in a bathroom and fled the area. Balmes added that the man did not use or imply a weapon.

The man is described as being 5'7" to 5'9" tall with a slim build. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, blue pants, camouflage boots, a black Puma backpack, latex gloves and sunglasses, Balmes said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Lake County Sheriff's Office at 847-377-4250 or the Chicago FBI Office at 312-421-6700.
