An 18-year-old Round Lake man has been charged with four counts of indecent solicitation of a child after police said he used Facebook to attempt to set up a meeting with a 9-year-old girl, according to the Daily Herald.
Devan A. Bald, of the 200 block of West Autumn Drive, is being held in the Lake County jail on a $400,000 bail.
Police said the online discussion between Bald and the girl "became sexual in nature" earlier this month and was discovered by the girl's father, the Daily Herald reports.
Cops then posing as the girl continued to communicate with Bald and set up a time to meet, according to the Lake County News-Sun.
At the meeting, he was met by sheriff's office detectives, and later told police in an interview, he meant to meet the girl to "engage in sexual activities," according to the Lake County News-Sun.
