UPDATED: Six Vehicle Collision Sends One Person to Hospital

Grayslake Police and Fire responded to a multiple vehicle collision at Peterson Road, west of Route 83.

Grayslake Police Chief Philip Perlini gave Patch the following statement:

"It was two separate vehicle crashes occurring simultaneously at the intersection involving 6 cars. No major injuries, just a huge mess."

The cause of the accident is not yet known. Police are still working on completing the accident report. Patch will provide updates once more information becomes available.

One unidentified person was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville as a precaution Monday morning following a six-vehicle collision at Peterson Road, west of Route 83, said fire officials.

The collision occurred at 7:53 a.m., said Grayslake Fire Battalion Chief Joris Lillge.

One Grayslake ambulance responded to the scene, along with Grayslake Police.

There is no information yet on the cause of the accident, but Lillge said there was "minor to moderate damage" to all six vehicles.
