Suburban Grad Charged With Murder in N.Y. Strangulation

Maxwell Sherman is accused in the strangulation death of Lauren Daverin.

An 18-year-old man — and former Barrington High School student — has been arrested on a second-degree murder charge, preliminary, in the strangulation death of an 18-year-old New York woman, according to the Chicago Tribune. 

Maxwell Sherman, of the 0 to 100 block of Louisiana Street in Long Beach, is accessed of killing Lauren Daverin at about 10 p.m. on Aug. 22 on a footbridge in Rockville Centre, N.Y., according to the article. 

Police said they found the women nude and in a pool of her blood, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. 

Sherman and his family traveled between Barrington and New York and his enrollment at District 220 was sporadic, according to ABC 7 Chicago. 

Police arrested Sherman on Aug. 24 and he was arraigned on Aug. 25, according to ABC 7 Chicago.
