County Board, 10th District Candidates At Forum in Grayslake

Candidates can share their views in their own words during a sustainability forum at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 24 at the Byron Colby Barn. It is presented by Incinerator-Free Lake County.

Voters have opportunities to meet and hear from current elected officials who are running for re-election during two environmental/sustainability round tables this Friday.

The first one will showcase local elected officials in the Grayslake area; the second features candidates for the newly redistricted Illinois 10th Congressional District including Ilya Sheyman, John Tree and a representative from Brad Schneiderʼs campaign.

This event is open to the public and is a fundraiser for Incinerator-Free Lake County and their newly formed non-profit, Midwest Sustainability Group.

The forum will be at 7:30-10 p.m. Feb. 24. at the Byron Colby Barn in the Prairie Crossing subdivision, 1561 Jones Point Road, Grayslake.

The event will also feature presentations regarding the proposed Route 53 extension. Guest presenters are Mike Sands, who has been appointed by the Blue Ribbon Panel to oversee the environmental concerns of a proposed Route 53 extension and Evan Craig of the Sierra Club Woods & Wetlands Group. Both will speak about the environmental issues surrounding a proposed Route 53 extension and what can be done about them, if anything.
