Carey spent 20 years in business as a technology executive and also worked several years in municipal economic development. Carey states, “I believe my combined expertise in local government, economic development, and business make me uniquely qualified to work at the County level on the critical regional issues facing us today.”

Carey recaps her County service thus far:  “In my first three years on the county and forest preserve boards, I have focused on issues related to jobs, transportation, and a sustainable environment.   I represent the county on Lake County Partners, where I work on bringing jobs to the county, as well as on the Solid Waste Agency of Lake County, where I am focused on increasing recycling to reduce our dependence on landfills.   I am also engaged in a number of regional projects related to fostering a sustainable environment.  Throughout all of these efforts, I have been a staunch supporter of reducing spending, balancing the budget, and maintaining our property tax rates as low as possible.”

Grayslake, as well as all of Lake County, benefits from her effective representation.”
