No More Storm Branch Pickup, Village Says

After three weeks of storm branch pickup efforts, the Village of Grayslake is now asking residents to no longer leave debris at the curb.

The storm on July 11 knocked down trees and branches throughout the village. Afterwards, the Village of Grayslake offered branch and brush clean up efforts until July 20.

All residents were notified of the end of the services through a community wide email/phone notification and it was also posted on the village’s website, according to a statement from the village.

Due to the high volume of damages, village crews continued to pick up additional branch and brush debris deposited at the street between July 20 and July 29 as a courtesy.

Another community-wide call was made to again inform residents that branch pick had ended. After the completion of the storm clean up, the Village conducted a street by street inspection within the Village and confirmed that no branches were then present.

The Village used contractors and its own crews to complete the storm clean up and the subsequent courtesy removals. At that point contractors were released and the Village is now unable to complete more branch/landscape pick-ups at the street.
