Grayslake to Welcome Lakeland Church of Gurnee

The Block Property, located north of Rollins Road and near the Carillon North subdivision, will be the home of Lakeland Church of Gurnee after the board approved amending an annexation agreement and special use permit for the property.

The amendment will allow the church to purchase approximately 21 acres of the property for the development. The church will be approximately 140,000 square feet.

Derek Soderholm, Grayslake assistant village manager, said under the original special use permit a potential developer was allowed to construct 33 single family homes on the property, but now the houses have been removed from the permit.

“A church is an allowed use under the current zoning of the property,” he said.
