Yard Waste Clean-Up Week April 9-13
The Village of Grayslake will offer free yard waste collection services next week.
Grayslake Village officials announced that yard waste clean-up week will begin on Monday, April 9 and run through Friday, April 13.
Residents may set out an unlimited amount of yard waste at the curb by 6 a.m. on their regular garbage pickup day. There is no cost to residents for this service.
This free pick-up will occur one time only during yard waste clean-up week. Any yard waste must adhere to disposal guidelines below. After yard waste clean-up week, residents have additional yard waste disposal options:

- Weekly yard waste pick-up service begins April 16.
- Weekly yard waste pick-up will begin the week of April 16 and continue through November 30.
- Weekly yard waste pick-up will take place the same day as garbage pick-up. Residents may set out up to six (6) bags, marked cans, or bundles of yard waste per week. Each parcel must have a yard waste sticker and adhere to the yard waste disposal guidelines. Yard Waste Stickers Stickers for yard waste bags and containers are $1.80 per sticker.
- Stickers may be purchased at Jewel/Osco and Ace Hardware on Route 120 in Grayslake. Other Yard Waste Disposal Options Waste Management also offers a yard waste subscription service and one-time pick-up option.
The Yard Waste Subscription Service includes weekly pick-up of up to six (6) bags, marked cans, or bundles of yard waste per week. This service runs from April through November for a seasonal fee of $75. A One-Time Pick-Up of up to six (6) 32 gallon cans, paper bags, or bundles of yard waste can be arranged for a flat fee of $10 per pick-up. Residents interested in the yard waste subscription service or a one-time pick-up should contact Waste Management directly at (800) 796-9696 to set-up these services.
Yard Waste Disposal Guidelines:

- Yard waste consists of grass clippings, leaves, trimmings, branches, and other material accumulated as a result of the care of lawns, shrubs, and trees.
- Yard waste (up to 50 pounds) must be placed in brown paper yard waste bags or plastic garbage containers (up to 32 gallon can size) clearly marked “yard waste."
