CLC Students Wrongfully Approved for Scholarships
Repayment sought after College of Lake County employees approve scholarships for ineligible students, according to the Daily Herald.
According to a report in the Daily Herald, 11 College of Lake County students were improperly awarded nearly $11,400 in scholarships, approved by college employees. One of the scholarships was awarded to a school employee.
As a result, two financial aid employees have resigned over the matter. Two more have been transferred, according to the Daily Herald.
The college is seeking repayment and has a new layer of approval in place for scholarships awarded to college employees.
